• thorough emotional and educational preparation for surgery
• regular consultation with your GP to coordinate medical requirements and support services.
• women who undergo mastectomy are gifted two mastectomy bras from fundraiser, chicks in pink
• breast, shoulder and lymph care therapy, available through the visiting occupational therapist at inpatient level and as a post-discharge service
• expert services, technology and techniques to provide early and accurate diagnosis. Queensland X-ray women’s diagnostic facilities on-site help reduce patient waiting times
• visiting psychologist available to see patients and their families at inpatient level and post-discharge
• referral of patients to attend the award-winning “Look good…feel better” sessions held at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Mater Private Hospital Redland
• access to the “Mindful Parenting” program for mothers of children under the age of 18 funded by chicks in pink.
